The Baldwin 0012264 0012 264 Letter Box Plate is a replacement (replaces manufacturer's part no. 0010 526 5927 3) for Baldwin brass-plated locking mailbox plates. This versatile mailbox plate can also be used with many other builders' locking mailboxes. For use on both new installations and retrofits.

This obscure Baldwin "0012" patent letter box plate is an unusual but functional piece that helps conceal the box. It works by laying on top of the box with the holes lined up with the register mail slot. The plate does not go inside the box so opening and closing the box causes it to flip around. Nonetheless, it does work because you can peek through the holes (which allow access to the slots in a letter box) and use it as a normal lock or bolt; effectively hiding your mail from would-be burglars or anyone else!
