The Baldwin Locks 8560-260 is a mortise deadlock, it has a 2-1/2" backset, which is larger than the standard 2" backset used on doors throughout North America.

The Baldwin 8560 Mortise Deadlock is code approved, making it the ideal choice for commercial applications. This lock features a deadlatch with anti-pick shield, 2-1/2 backset and has a mortised cylinder. Made of steel.

This lock offers greater security than cylindrical locks while requiring less space than mortise locks. Plus, it requires a nominal 2-3/4" total depth where the cylinder is not used or mounted deep into the case. It has a 2-1/2" backset and 8560 type latch bolt, which allows for right or left handed installation, as well as adjustable latch travel for varied strike depths.
