Delta Faucet was started in 1939 by Richard Dunbar. The name Delta is taken from the shape of the river delta, because Richard was delivering different kitchen faucets to the nearby wholesale kitchen dealers from his father's plumbing store, and he delivered one faucet per day, potentially 100 deliveries a month. He named his company Delta Plumbing Faucet Company to remind him of his daily deliveries. The company started in a small town, Fort Valley Georgia, and today it is still based there.
