The ESTWING RIGGERS AXE is the first milled-face axe for professionals that utilize this tool in it's full capacity. A cutting edge has been milled to a concave face, which reduces friction and provides faster cutting action; while the weight of the head allows greater power application with less effort. The extra thick, sharpened blade offers superior cutting ability. It's made of a special carbon steel with an exceptionally high tensile strength and hardness. This means it retains its edge longer than similar axes, and results in its famous long lasting edge-holding qualities.
RIGGERS AXE HEAD - Packaged with a hammer poll. The head is machined from high grade steel - Corrosion resistant, Black oxide finish- Grooves on face of blade and eye for added grip.
This classic, long-handled axe features a high-grade American steel blade, specially cast to give an ideal balance of weight and strength. Efficient bevel grind makes each axe head both durable and easy to resharpen. A finely polished, lightweight hickory handle adds balance and comfort. Hickory handle is slightly longer than that of comparable size axe. A leather sheath and polishing cloth are included.
Sapele handle is smoothly contoured and triple riveted for long lasting durability. 58'reinforced high carbon steel' blade has a milled face for ease of sharpening.
Made for serious work, the Estwing E3-Series Long Handled Axe is designed and manufactured with the help of a third generation axe maker. This no nonsense tool features an extra strong American steel head, precision formed and tempered to stand up to tough jobs.
The 36" American made laminated steel handle provides better balance and an overall more solid feel but is lighter than a solid steel handle. The all-American hickory axe head, hand sharpened edged back of head with 18 teeth per inch. The axe head is attached to the handle with three 3/8" diameter cold forge steel rivets.
The E-3 handle is made of lacquered beech wood with recessed side panels to prevent the handle from banging against machinery or other tools in storage. It has comfortable fiberglass handles and a curved end for easier chopping. The axe head can be removed and replaced with the E-1 or E-4 for different cutting uses.
