It is breathable and completely occlusive, providing an ideal moist environment for wound healing with optimal protection against maceration. The dressing is easily applied and removed without the use of adhesives.

The WATER-JEL DRESSING is 2 x 6 fluid ounces of a burn dressing developed by the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research and used in combat situations to treat severe burns. The WATER-JEL DRESSING has been used extensively during fire rescue burn operations at the Oklahoma City fire department, since it's fast cool-down property minimizes heat transfer to the patient allowing better margin of safety for the patient and more effective treatment by medical staff without concern of thermal burn injury from the rescuers or hot embers.
