Cartridge 974-042 fits around the cartridge and softener (wherever they are located) in Bedford® and Pfister® faucets. Cartridges must be replaced every 1-3 years to maintain performance under normal usage conditions. Simply remove old cartridge; drop in new cartridge and if necessary, add a little water to activate new unit. Rinse the adjustment rings and check for leaks with any new cartridges.
