The SCHLAGE D latch style deadlatch mortise lock case is made of zinc die-cast housing and steel cylinder. These locks have 5 levers and feature a standard semi-gloss black epoxy finish. The backset is adjustable.

The Schlage D series deadlatch, like all of the Schlage keyed cylinder deadlatches, is UL listed and features a 1-inch throw. It installs quickly and easily in wood or metal doors and it is compatible with single-cylinder locks that accept Schlage SC1 and SC2 keys. The latch's long design enables it to accommodate up to a 2-3/8-inch (60mm) thick door.

The Schlage D deadlatch is designed for commercial applications and features a 3-3/8" backset. The deadlatch and strike are sold as separate items.

The Schlage D deadlatch is designed to serve as a replacement for the deadlatch on any standard 1-3/8-in. (35 mm) door. It features a Lifetime Limited Warranty that covers keyway failure or breakage under normal use. For enhanced security, the 626 Deadlatch is equipped with a RAD-hardened steel rod and a new 2nd generation Square D sense latch magnet, providing 15,000 demagnetization cycles. The latch includes a door-frame stop for added security as well as adjustable backset.
