The head mechanism with man reset allows you to raise and lower your jib safely using the controls at your boat. It also allows you to easily stop the hook at a horizontal or vertical position so that work can be performed from the boat or platform level.

Replace your old or broken engine head mechanism with our 3858 172809 part. The new engine head assembly by itself includes the head mechanism, flywheels, starter pawl, and flywheel key.

This allows you to have confidence of optimized helmet fit, less neck strain and a greater comfort level in helmets. The Head Mechanism is designed for use with all MSA full face masks with the ability to manually reset the chin strap after each removal, and is compatible with MSA Maximus X Series Face Masks."

The head includes a 250 NM - 1200 Lb. Brake, (3) 120 Ft. of 3/8" Wire Rope, and (1) 5/8" Snap Hook. The 2 - Stage Trolley ensures maximum life expectancy for the wire rope. This head is equipped with a "Cruise-Control Device". This provides for infinite lowering speed that can be easily set to any rate between 274 ft. / min. and 1376 ft. / min. by adjusting the speed control knob located on the top of the piston. The 172809 accommodates 10mm (3/8") wire
