With the parts listed above, a 3-ton LB-85663J TXV kit can be added to this Lennox 199066 1.5-3 ton air conditioner. The LB-85663J is a replacement TXV (expansion valve) for the 199066 and all other R22 model air conditioners.

The Expansion Valve 1.5-3 Ton (LB-85663J) is a Lennox® replacement or spare part that controls the flow of refrigerant, reduces the amount of heat transfer in the evaporator coil, and cools the condenser coil. The Expansion Valve safe operating pressures are rated 2.44"WC (160psig) to 6.9"WC (380psig) and the nominal flow rate is 34 SCFM at 55psig at 80°F (27°C).

The Expansion Valve provides a constant refrigerant flow into the evaporator coil in order to control the airflow across it. The LB-85663J is fully compatible with the LB-85767J Series TXV. If the Expansion Valve is incorrectly connected, air can enter the condenser and cause burnout. This can be avoided by installing a capillary tube (included) in series with the solenoid valve outlet port.
