AUTOMATIC PILOT MERCURY TYPE

With the Automatic Pilot Mercury Type, you get robust performance with the smooth touch of a lighted rocker switch. It features a compact, fully self-contained mercury torque converter that is suitable for powering any heating appliance; most commonly used for flame and hydronic heaters.

The automatic pilot device for mercury, provided with a flame sensor for the sensing of the pilot flame on the gas logs.

The CushCraft "Cush Pilot" automatic pilot valve (unit cannot be shipped outside of the United States) is helpful in operating an indirect water heater when used in conjunction with a WHR-type water heater. Piloting the unit assures that the correct draft pressure is maintained under all conditions. The internal sensing bulb has a wide adjustment range and the filament is protected from soot accumulation by an internal wire guard.

Plug-in temperature/pressure controls using pilot gas are preferred by many institutions for use in hospital and industrial gas-oxygen systems. They provide a cost-effective alternative to mercury valves as the most economical solution for temperature control. However, plug-in controls have several limitations. For example, they cannot detect or operate on a loss of pressure signal and are unable to automatically switch back to pilot operation when normal pressure conditions return.
