High Pressure Limit - Auto Reset
The RHEEM 173816 /Protech - High Pressure Limit - Auto Reset features and benefits include:
High Pressure Outdoor / Indoor Limit Switch - Auto Reset - For Up To 2 hp or 2.5 hp Rheem Heat Pumps."
An auto reset high pressure limit switch is a device used to protect heating and cooling equipment against destructive shut-down conditions. A high pressure limit switch monitors process pressure and automatically shuts down the equipment when the preset maximum pressure is exceeded. By monitoring process pressure, the high pressure limit switch protects the equipment from damage caused by over pressurization occurring during construction, temporary shutdown, or power loss.
With Rheem's unique High Pressure Limit Anti-Recycle Thermostat, the water heater will automatically stop producing hot water once the desired temperature is reached. The High Pressure Limit Anti-Recycle Thermostat also includes an Auto-Reset feature that resets itself when the water temperature cools below the preset limit for maximum safety and reliability.
The compatible Rheem/Ruud limit and reset assembly is designed to replace two pieces that are no longer available as a single unit. The assembly replaces the 10-4C and 10-4D high pressure switches and the actuator.
The Rheem 173816 /Protech is designed with an auto reset feature which performs system self-troubleshooting when a problem occurs. The Auto-Reset function monitors the electric current used to run the compressor. If your circuit trips or your breaker is tripped and the compressor shuts off, it automatically resets itself after 30 minutes.
Rheem's self-contained temperature and pressure control devices monitor, limit, and reset internal water temperatures, pressures and anti-scaling functions.
