This 1/4" NPT. Brass Pigtail Steam Trap is used to prevent condensate from returning to the boiler where it will cause excessive foaming and can cause an overflow.

This steam trap is designed to divert condensate from a steam or other hot water line. The flow diverter is made from brass and has a maximum temperature rating of 180 degrees C (356 degrees F). A Pig Tail connection allows the steam trap to be easily mounted to the line. The steam trap prevents excessive moisture build-up within a closed vessel which can cause corrosion, mold buildup, and mechanical and electrical failures.

Our steam trap fits 1/4 in. NPT pipe and is designed to protect boiler headers or other steam lines from corrosion caused by condensate drainage which results in the possible backup of water into a steam line when a trap fails.

The 1/2-inch PIGTAIL steam trap is often used to control blow-offs in lines carrying steam, condensate and air under varying pressures. The steam trap will automatically relieve the condensate back to the boiler. Steam, air and some solids will then flow back into the drain line.
