Rheem's line of TXV (thermostatic expansion valves) combines the convenience and reliability of a single stage unit, with the added ability to utilize an outdoor reset control. The 10-foot remote control is required for the outdoor reset feature, and works with all Rheem TXV systems. This combination unit is an easy retrofit into existing applications as well as new construction applications.
Rheem's 3 Ton TXV is the heart of your air conditioning unit. It serves as a temperature-sensitive "valve" that controls the flow of refrigerant through your HVAC system to your home's air ducting and registers. By monitoring evaporator coil temperatures, it precisely regulates the ratio of refrigerant and oil needed to be sent to the compressor, thus controlling the discharge temperature sent to the evaporator coil. This helps reduce your energy use by ensuring that your system runs with just the right amount of capacity necessary for operation.
