The door switch is a normally closed "SPST" type switch that indicates that the furnace door is closed. When the door switch senses that the cabinet door is opened, it will open an internal circuit breaker (on most units). Do not use a device that holds the furnace switch in the ON position to test for continuity.

Disregard any red warning display. Replace the door switch to eliminate the red display.
