Belimo's 190110 N4H Spring Actuator has a maximum travel of 165mm and is controlled by 24V DC. The actuator allows the damper to return to an open position after being held in a fully closed position through the use of a 180 lb. spring.

The N4H is normally closed (NC) and rated for 24 VDC circuits. The diaphragm is constructed of 1/16 in. diameter nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) surrounded by Teflon®-lined PTFE which houses the coil spring. The dielectric fluid is compatible with any aerosol lubricator fluid, the voltage range is 24 VDC, and the temporary tolerance of the actuator's stroke is ±5%.

For our particular application, we needed an actuator to close the dampers after the temperature had been set by the heating system. The solenoid valve opened up the dampers which allowed air flow out of the plenum space. Once it sensed that there was no heat being applied to that zone, that zone would then be isolated from the rest of the building.
