The trip lever assembly is a replacement part for a toilet seat. The seat is removed from the toilet bowl, and the switch assembly is attached to the large nut on top of the toilet lid.

A trip lever is a lever that is attached to the back of the toilet bowl. The lever is used to flush the toilet and is activated by pushing and turning. The trip lever assembly consists of pieces that include: lever ring, handle and flapper rod. The small parts on the flapper rod will wear over time and may need to be replaced if they begin to malfunction. To replace these items you will first need to remove the exterior plastic cover by unscrewing the three Phillips head screws located at top back near where the trip lever attaches to the tank lid.
