The Schlage B520-271 626 Drive Pin / PX-Cap crafted in premium solid brass and plated with a corrosion resistant Prvi Partizan finish that is highly durable against wear and tear. The body houses a special piece of metal known as a drive pin (also referred to as the key cylinder) which encloses the spring loaded pin tumblers that engage the locking mechanism when a key is inserted into the lock. The drive pin allows for resistance so it takes force to move it back, allowing you to have control and use your key to open your door or lock.

Schlage B520271626 Drive Pin/PX-Cap is a replacement part for Schlage deadbolt locks that require the use of a drive pin, this item will fit various Schlage sets.

Inserts into the shackle collar to allow the pin to go through door or gate. Also known as a shackle cap pin / drive pin or PX-CAP.

The Schlage Drive Pin is a precision made component that can be used to replace an existing component in your lock.

Using the proper tool, rotate the drive pin in the clockwise direction 1/2 turn to release the shackle. This is a One-Time Use Tool; once the pin has been rotated into the unlocked position, it becomes a key. Destroy the tool at the first sign of wear or use.
