About the Toto Toilets
- There is a Cefiontect Glaze on the Toto toilets that help prevent waste material from sticking to the toilet bowl. The Toto toilets use nano-technology, which gives the ceramics a protective layer. This layer helps all the tiny waste particles to move down the drain when you flush your toilet.
- The Toto toilets are also equipped with E-water technology, which uses electrolyzed antibacterial water that breaks down waste. The Tornado Flush feature flushes the water in a powerful tornado motion. The flush thoroughly cleans the surface of the toilet bowl and prevents waste build-up.
- The Toto toilets are very hygienic and easy to clean. Having no rim around the bowl means that there are no hidden crevices for bacteria to breed and cause infections.
- The Toto Washlet sprays water onto the bowl before you use it.

The Neorest Toto Toilet
The very top model of the Toto models is the Neorest Toto toilet. This model has an Actilight, which is a zirconium coating on the toilet bowl. There is UV light in the seat, and once you activate it, waste material breaks down.
After each toilet use, the wand cleans itself with warm water before retracting back into the toilet seat. The wand retracting back into the seat, and not the toilet bowl, make the Toto toilet very hygienic and efficient.
How to clean a washlet wand jet
It is recommended that you clean the wand jet using a soft, damp piece of cloth. If the wand jet is dirty, you can use a neutral cleaner to get rid of the waste material. Avoid using too much pressure or pulling at the wand jet with too much force, as this can damage it.
How to clean the Toto toilet deodorizing filter
You can remove the deodorizing filter/ the coarse filter and gently brush it using a toothbrush or any other soft brush. In the case that the filter is very dirty, you can also rinse it with water after brushing it. Make sure that the filter is completely dry before you put it back in its previous position.
How to clean between the washlet attachment and the toilet bowl
Simply lift the bowl to clean it. It is also recommended to clean the top of the bowl and at the bottom of the washlet by removing the washlet. You can press the button to remove the washlet attachment and lift it slightly to make room for you to clean.
Use only a neutral cleaner and a soft damp cloth to clean the washlet, and then wipe it dry using another damp cloth.
More Cleaning Tips
- We recommend cleaning your toilet on a daily or weekly basis. The more the toilet is used, the more you should clean it.
- For a very dirty toilet, we recommend using a diluted, PH-neutral kitchen cleaner. Wipe it down with a soft wet piece of cloth. You may have to do this more than once, to ensure your toilet is clean!
- Use a toilet brush with water to thoroughly clean the Toto toilet bowl. Flush away all the cleaning substances after two minutes of leaving them in the toilet bowl. - Cleaning the plastic components of the Toto toilet should be done using a clean, soft damp cloth. Use a grit-free piece of cloth, so it does not scratch or damage the plastic surfaces of the toilet.
- Use a PH-neutral spray cleaner. Spray the cleaners directly into the cloth and not directly on the surface of your Toto toilet. The PH scale ranges from 0-14 and 7 indicates neutral. The values from 0-6 are considered acidic while 8-14 are alkaline.
- Avoid using bleach products, as well as a vinegar and lemon solution when you clean your toilets.
- Cleaning the washlet: Make sure to wipe on the inside and the outside of the washlet lid. Clean the sides and back of the toilet, where the washlet touches the toilet bowl.
