This is a mechanical type freon heat exchanger, mounted in the duct and used to cool the incoming air for a condensing unit. They are made by laminating stainless steel foil reinforced high density sheet material and then brazing it. The corrosion resistant bond between the corrosion resistant aluminum alloy and the alloyed stainless steel is made through a vacuum brazing process.
