You can replace this part yourself after you remove the screw at the bottom cover. The ignitor houses a 25,000-hour rated resistor and an internal 30,000ohm NTC temperature-sensitive device that causes the resistance to decrease when the oven's temperature is above its set temperature. This motion of decreasing resistance creates heat and sparks. The ignitor itself gets hot because of this heating action, so there is a bimetal safety device located behind the unit that is designed to act as a fuse if the ignitor should flare up high enough to melt the wire mesh in the bimetal.
