Noise! You knew it was there - a loud, consistent hum emanating from the air conditioner. What could cause that? The answer: A dirty TXV valve. Your AC is only as strong as your weakest component, which means a clogged TXV will cause your overall system to work harder, be less energy efficient and make a fuss.

All Carrier two-stage heat pumps and air conditioner models 2006 and later use the new valve assembly TXV (thermal expansion valve). The old valve assembly is no longer available. The new TXV is shorter and smaller than the older valve. While the appearance is different, the replacement will fit on existing brackets.
