The EP13BZ271 is a 7/8"" Suction Service Valve. It regulates water pressure to the ice maker of a refrigerator to produce ice. This valve has a 1/2"" brass suction inlet and outlet and is for use with food-grade plastic tubing.

The 7/8" Suction Service Valve features a polypropylene ball, is designed for domestic water systems and has an extended stem option.

The Carrier EP13BZ271 7/8"" suction service valve is a replacement part that has been re-engineered to fix the two most common problems associated with it. The original part has an internal "O" ring that, over time and use, begins to leak. This new replacement part does not have this problem since the O ring is replaced with a more durable valve gasket. Also, the pull pin for removing the lever handle is prone to breaking because of galling, resulting in an unusable part. The new replacement part solves this problem by preventing the pin from galling in the first place
