The Carrier HH11AZ180 is needed for gas and electric furnaces. The VENT SAFETY SWITCH is used in plumbing applications where a 240 volt ventilating fan motor is required to turn on and off automatically with both the heat and air conditioning equipment. The vent safety switch opens when the furnace or air conditioner is on, but closes when the equipment cycles off.
