One common failure mode for refrigeration machinery is poor temperature control. If the air conditioning or air cooling system does not provide sufficient cooling, then it's usually because the operator doesn't know that the temperature is too high. The Demand Cooling Temp Sensor helps indicate when that situation happens by allowing an external probe to measure ambient temperature and issue a signal when the demand cooling system is required.

Designed to work with your Copeland refrigeration compressor, this probe automatically adjusts the compressor's operating cycle to maintain a uniform temperature inside your refrigeration unit.  When the temperature of the product being cooled rises above a predetermined level, the probe signals the Copeland expander to turn on for a controlled time period that allows the unit to recover its original set point temperature. Then it turns off until the product temperature again rises above its setpoint. This system is referred to as "demand cooling."
