#573935702 IGNITION MODULE The ignition module (IM) is one of the most critical components in the engine control system. It is a complex, high-energy electronic device that provides the necessary switching functions for proper engine operation. The IM receives an input from the camshaft position sensor and based on its programmed start/run strategy, it directs a high-voltage current to the spark plugs to ignite fuel and air mixture in cylinders. The IM also receives other inputs from an accelerator pedal position sensor, water temperature sensor and a crankshaft position sensor.
