This evaporator coil with drain pan is designed for use with Ruud refrigerators. This coil should be replaced every 12 years (or every six if the unit is in a hot climate).

Rheem's evaporator coil with drain pan features an all stainless steel construction with a fully welded 3/8" refrigeration grade copper tube. This replacement evaporator coil includes a durable brass drain pan with removable drain cap and a quartz glass tube.

Rheem's exclusive one-piece evaporator coil is designed to stand up to extreme conditions. The pressure-welded coil features copper tubing that is designed to bond and flow onto the steel plates, eliminating the possibility of leaks. The drain pan captures condensate and protects the unit from snow and ice damage and freezes. This coil is designed for use on all Ruud and Rheem vertical outdoor air handling units with a BNB/BNW rating.

Evaporator coils are used to remove moisture from the air in order to provide comfortable heating and cooling. By preventing condensation from forming on the interior walls of your outdoor unit, they help prevent indoor air from being humidified by swamp coolers, humidifiers, or other devices that recirculate wet air. Evaporator coils contain refrigerant and water which can create a short circuit if the compressor is left running with the outside unit cover removed.
