The Schlage F40 Elan is a privacy lock for hinged doors. The one-inch latch features a tubular key cylinder, a backset of 2-3/8 inches, .750 inch bore size, and a deadbolt throw of 1-1/8 inch. The matching door handle features an escutcheon for the privacy function. The package includes all hardware to mount the handle and deadbolt in any wood or metal door.

The Schlage F40 Elan privacy lock is supplied standard with a 2 3/8'' latch and strike plate, but can be upgraded to the 2 3/4'' or 2 3/8'' latch size. Upgrading to a larger latch will require slight modification to the door frame.
