It allows for re-keying and has a forward set function on the outside knob. The dual cylinder deadbolt provides security in the closed as well as locked positions. The functions of the exterior escutcheon are traditional unlatching through either the thumbturn (not supplied) or lever handle, on to locking or unlocking by key from both inside and outside, with a last position for non-locking use
