The Fowler 54-101-175 Polycal Electronic Caliper is an ESD safe design. It has a hold switch which places the unit in hysteresis mode after the measurement is taken. The caliper remains on and in an unmeasured state until you press the release button, at which time its electronics disengage then power down. This prevents accidental measurement if handled or moved while on.
