The HC-201 from Barber Colman is Schneider Electric's most cost effective solution for controlling humidity in HVAC systems in residential and light commercial applications. The Schneider Electric® HC-201 Duct Mount Humidistat uses resistance element technology to accurately measure relative humidity; it has a sealed enclosure suitable for outdoor applications and makes a perfect replacement for old ball hygrometers. The humidity sensor is always mounted in the duct to measure the conditioned air on the return air side of an air handling unit.

The HC-201 barometric duct mount humidity control uses a barometer to monitor the outdoor ambient air pressure. When air pressure drops, the valve in the humidistat opens, allowing room air to enter and be conditioned by the indoor unit. An optional high temperature limit switch stops the humidifier when excessive indoor temperatures are reached. The HC-201 is to be mounted in an opening, or mounted with a flange, in the supply air duct of forced air systems that utilize central air conditioning.

The HC-201 Humidistats can be mounted directly to the duct, or inside the plenum. They have internal adjustment and are available in straight, 180° and curved configurations. 365 Day a year operation at 15% to 95% RH, ESD protection (Intrinsically Safe) for non hazardous locations.

The C-series HC humidistat mounts on top of the return in a duct system. The unit is mounted by one screw into the duct and uses a single rocker or push-button switch depending on model. Installation is as easy as wiring it to the heating and cooling system, respectively.
