LIMIT SWITCH

Installed right on top of your furnace, the Limit Switch monitors gas control and safety, keeping your home warm and cozy.

This OEM Furnace Limit Switch is designed for Carrier and Bryant Type L furnaces from model year 2004 and later. It also replaces Part Numbers: 15-553-502A, 18-16, 18-56, 18-59, 18-78, 20-512.

Our Carrier furnace limit switch is an original equipment manufacturer product. This limit switch is used to control the operation of your gas furnace's blower motor and gas valve when the blower motor is in the ON position. This limit switch has a built-in sensor that works with your system's safety circuit in order to ensure proper operation of your blower motor and gas valve as well as it's own internal components.

Limit switches are often used to shut off a main burner, ignition assembly or gas valve when a specific temperature is reached. This will be the safety shut-off that turns the gas supply off as soon as the appliance reaches its maximum safe operating temperature. An example of this type of use would be on a hot water heater where the limit switch would stop the gas supply to the heating element once it reached the maximum point, thus preventing water from being overheated.

The Carrier Furnace Limit Switch is installed on the control board and monitors the limit of the air conditioner's operation. It prevents the unit from reaching extreme temperatures.

The Carrier® replacement furnace limit switch is designed to be used with the Carrier® brand packaged gas furnaces. The limit switch serves as an interlock switch which interrupts power to the furnace if the gas blower stops during a burner cycle.

The Carrier® Furnace Limit Switch L215 is designed to control the operation of gas-fired furnaces. With a temperature range of 90°F to 220°F, the two common terminals include normal operation between 90°F and 200°F.
