Are you finding it hard to adjust your Delta Monitor 1700 Series temperature? We are going to make it easy for you. Read this article till the end.

How to adjust the temperature on a Delta monitor

Rotate the Delta anti-scald valve counterclockwise to increase the water temperature to the maximum, or turn it clockwise to reduce the water temperature. Each valve’s notches can reduce or increase the temperature between 16 and 4 degrees fahrenheit.

Therefore, how do you control the temperature on your sink faucet?

Most faucets come with two small adjustment screws on the lower part of the handle. The crew on the right-hand side regulates cold water, while that on the left regulates hot water. To increase the water temperature, rotate the cold water screw clockwise or the hot water screw counterclockwise.

Nevertheless, how do you regulate water temperature on a single-handle faucet?

  • Detach the handle using a screwdriver.
  • Remove the metal cover below the handle to see the valve stem.
  • Rotate the RSL two notches in any direction you may wish, and then put back the RSL in place.
  • Replace the handle and test the water if it is cold or hot
  • How to adjust a mixing valve

To regulate the outlet temperature of the mixing valve, pull out the cap to reach the adjusting spindle. Rotate the spindle counterclockwise to increase the temperature or clockwise to reduce the temperature until the required set point is achieved.

If your shower is not as hot as your sink, the problem could not be the anti-scalding device. Maybe your shower mixing valve has gone wrong, preventing water from mixing correctly. However, sometimes these valves break, wear out, or are aligned incorrectly, leading to uncomfortable shower temperatures.

How to Remove Plastic Faucet Valves

On ordinary faucets, the knob to the left of the spout regulates hot water while the knob to the right regulates cold water. For a single faucet, both cold and hot water are regulated by a common handle. Rotating the handle to the left controls hot water, while turning it to the right controls cold water. Both types of faucets get water from two supply lines found underneath the sink. Switching from hot water to cold is a sample task that requires only the basic plumbing ideas, as seen below.

Switch Water Lines

Identify the cold and hot cutoff valves underneath the sink. They are chrome-colored knobs for easy identification and are found on the back wall under the sink. Each of these knobs has a thin metal or plastic tube that connects to the faucet.

Rotate each knob counterclockwise to switch off the water supply. Switch on the faucet to ensure the water supply is off before disconnecting the supply lines.

Remove supply lines by unscrewing the nut that connects the supply line and the cutoff valve with a wrench.

Connect the supply line on the right (cold) cutoff to the left cutoff valve, twist it clockwise to tighten. Connect the other supply line to the remaining cutoff valve.

Switch on both cutoff valves and check for any leakages. If there is any leakage, switch off the valve, and retighten the nut.

Rotate the single handle faucet handle to the left for cold water or to the right for hot water.

Adjust Water Mixture

First, remove the single handle. You can either use a screwdriver to pry off the small plastic housing covering the retaining screw or pry off the retaining screw from the handle according to your faucet type. You can now adjust the water mixture.

Replace the handle and tighten the retaining screw.

Tools

  • Wrench
  • Phillip's head screwdriver

  • Pliers
  • Flathead screwdriver

Replace the handle and any other part you had disconnected. After that, you can adjust the water temperature on your shower faucet and enjoy the service.

Anti-scald faucets allow you to adjust the maximum hot water temperature. However, lower the hot water temperatures to save small children and the aged from burning themselves when they turn on hot water. Among the anti-scald faucets available, delta makes a monitor series of bathroom shower faucets that provide different degrees of maximum hot water output.
