The trusty fabric of a Honda wave filter, or "Washer", is an essential part of maintaining your Honda product. While the washers are replaceable many times, they will need to be changed eventually and are made from durable rubber and designed for long life.

The washer goes into the agitator without a problem, however, in my particular model of washer, the drive gear fits very loosely over this shaft and I am concerned about having to pull the part off every few months to tighten it as it will obviously wear out rather quickly. (I have seen parts built like this for service purposes only!) I tried using a large pair of vice grip pliers to tighten it, but that was not good enough to hold it secure. I may try drilling a hole into the plastic shaft and tap the shaft for a set screw or nail head type of connector.

The washer transmits rotary drives through the pump shaft to the impeller. It is located on the right side of the engine and is driven by the transmission output shaft.
