The VT V8043A1037 is a 24V zone valve with a driven stem and Open/Close solenoid coil. The single zone zone valve has three positions:  Open, Control (sealed), and Off. In the open position, it allows water to flow from the common inlet to the outlet. In the control position, the valve blocks the flow of water at both inlet and outlet. When thermostat calls for heat, it energizes the solenoid coil which closes the valve and opens a diaphragm-operated check valve. The check valve permits tank air
