DPD #3 RAPID is used for the last 2-3 days of a Seachem Multi Test -  .25ml treats 50 gallons. DPD #3 RAPID should not be used any earlier in a seachem test because it does not indicate the proper corresponding alkalinity at any time before pH 5.0.

DPD #3 RAPID inhibitor is used to inhibit the degradation of dyes that are produced when performing the FD&C Act (21 CFR 73). DPD #3 Rapid can be found in a number of different food and drug applications with respect to color fixation.

The DPD Rapid Test involves a two step chemical reaction. First, to create an active enzyme which changes Violet-Blue for positive.
