Our 25W24-0000 EXPANSION VALVE is designed for use with Lennox brand furnaces. This expansion valve and filter are located where it is readily accessible at the furnace.

Expansion valve 25W24

Expansion Valves are typically installed in the return air duct of heat pumps. Air blowing in through the outdoor coil's evaporator fins absorbs heat from the refrigerant flowing through the condenser coil. The increase in temperature and pressure causes the refrigerant to change from a low-pressure liquid to a high-pressure gas as it passes through expansion valves positioned before heating and cooling coils.

The Lennox® 25W24 Expansion Valve, for use with the Series 25 andSeries 20B Air-Conditioners Control Start Packages only. Retains the factory installed optional controls. Should be inspected and tested annually or in accordance with local codes.

Expansion valves prevent backflow of refrigerant into the outdoor coil. The backflow of refrigerant is caused by sudden pressure drop in indoor coil caused by overloading or malfunction of equipment.
