HIGH ALTITUDE PRESSURE SWITCH

The 88J80 High Altitude Pressure Switch helps protect your hot water heater by reducing the pressure in the system during altitude conditions. This switch comes preconfigured for an altitude of 5,000 feet above sea level and will need to be configured by a professional installer for larger installations and higher elevations. Please refer to the Pressure Switch Instructions for details on how to correctly configure this switch.

A Lennox Residential high altitude pressure switch is a safety device designed to prevent the burner or pilot in an outdoor water heater from operating above 3,500' elevation. The 88J80 has a case-hardened spring and is specifically designed for use with a direct vent gas water heater where the ambient temperature falls below zero degrees F when the water heater is heating the hot water.

The 88J80 high altitude pressure switch is a factory installed component on all 2011-2012 Lennox XC25 and HC23/HC33/HC38/HC49 Series furnaces. It is also available as a field installed kit for 2009-2010 XC25 and HC units that were not factory installed with it.  The 88J80 is used in conjunction with the 23K410 high altitude limit control board, 23K250 limit control board or the 24L660P2 low pressure switch to make these units perform properly at high altitudes within the USA (above 5000 ft). The 88J80 Pressure Switch is designed to meet the increased demands of high altitude applications. The switch will handle approximately an additional 5000 feet of elevations from the standard switch and maintains a consistent cycle time across its entire operating range. It is available with a strobe light indicator to confirm operation in hazardous locations.

The 88J80 Pressure Switch is ideal for either open loop or closed loop ventilating systems, gas fired furnaces, and boilers. This Pressure Switch offers instructions in English, French and Spanish for ease of installation and use. Includes a detailed pictorial chart with wiring diagrams to ensure proper hook-up, and a high altitude warning sticker to protect your equipment from damage caused by low pressure. Also features manual reset button for on/off operation.

This Pressure Switch is manufactured by the Luxaire Corporation. It is a copyrighted and trademarked name. It is 88J80-000.00 and it superseded part number 88J80-002.206

The 88J80 (8-1/2" X 5-1/4") pressure switch features a contoured operating face to prevent damage that could occur from inadvertently bumping the face of conventional switches. The use of three LED indicators (two green and one red) is unique to this series of pressure switches. The green LED indicator lights when the switch is energized, while a red LED can be programmed as a trouble or reset indicator.
