The Spark Ignitor Assembly is used in model: GCSS and GSS1028;Used in the ignition system of the surface-gas-fired boiler. A.O. Smith's NG-CASED BURNERS are normally gas fired on the surface of a water filled boiler. The burner generates a flame which ignites the fuel gas causing combustion and generation of heat. The heat raises the temperature of the water in the boiler to convert it to steam. This high pressure steam drives an electric generator to produce electrical power.

The Spark ignitor assembly is used to replace failed spark plugs in two stage gas furnaces. There is no mounting bracket included, but the bracket can be removed from your old unit. Using a 4 inch Phillips head screwdriver unscrew the wire connector from the old spark ignitor and remove the bracket from the old ignitor. Use it with plug number 09-736373-d.
