Modine's™ Overheat Control is the world leader in devices used to prevent boilers, radiators and water heaters from overheating and potential damage. The Overheat Control meets Underwriters' Laboratories, UL standards for safety and reliability.

No mater what the fan or blower application, you want one that will stop when it gets to an acceptable temperature. The MODINE Overheat Control prevent fan/blower motor burnout. An overload switch will shutdown if the drive overheats and restart when cool. On blowers it can be used as a safety to protect people from dust/particles and on fans it keeps the motor running but at a slower speed to control fan speed.

The Modine 289768 Overheat Control is a direct replacement for the factory installed damper assembly for the D9 series packaged rooftop units. This Overheat Control kit prevents overheating by shutting off power to the unit's compressor when temperatures exceed the set point. When installed, the Damper Actuator will swings open/closed accordingly in response to temperature changes sensed within the rooftop unit.

The MODINE Overheat Control provides uninterrupted system performance, maintaining a constant output temperature, even while the system is heating or cooling. No more guessing. No more damage. The MODINE Overheat Control is a fully automated, high-precision, microprocessor-controlled device that monitors and controls the coolant recirculation loop flowing through system components including the compressor, condenser coil, liquid line filter drier and liquid line filter. It provides continuous overpressure protection to all the components in the coolant flow path using its built-in high-temperature sensor to detect “hot spots” at the earliest

The Modine Overheat Control reduces temperature from the burner or heat exchanger if it exceeds the factory setpoint. In case of an emergency, it will shut down the furnace when a preprogrammed high temperature limit is reached to prevent any damage to equipment or building. The Overheat Control senses the temperature at multiple points in the system, including primary and secondary heat exchangers, burner, cooling water supply and return lines, circulating fan motors, compressor, blowers and coils.

Overheat Control can automatically shut off the unit if it begins to overheat. This is a safety feature that all units should have added to them.
