Featuring a one inch throw bolt and an anti-pick mushroom-knob spindle lock, it is rated 4 out of 5 on the ANSI/BHMA A156.2 security scale. With anti-dust covers to protect from insects and debris, this heavy-duty deadbolt has been designed for strength and reliability throughout the year.

The Schlage ND50PDATH612 ND50P Deadbolt / 612 C123 has a rotating collar. When you turn the collar, it rotates independently from the rest of the bolt and shaft The collar's rotation trips an internal mechanism which drops the locking pin into the locking cylinder. This type of deadbolt is called a rotating deadbolt. A basic deadbolt does not have any type of external rotating mechanism; you just push and turn the door knob or lever handle to open from outside.
