PRESSURE REDUCING VALVE

The Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) controls the amount of pressure in a water system to a level that is safe for use. A PRV valve reduces pressure in a system by cutting off the flow of water once the desired operating pressure is reached (safety pressure). By shutting off the water supply to a faucet when the system reaches its desired pressure, there is less chance of damage through excessive velocity of water flowing through orifices. This PRV valve is designed specifically for use on hydronic radiators and heaters systems with nominal pressures above 175 psi.

The HATCO F11958 Pressure Reducing Valve is the pressure relief valve of choice for water heaters, chillers, boilers, or any process that needs to be protected from over pressurization. This self-contained pressure reducing valve with linear flow control can handle up to 20 PSI of reduced pressure. Reducing pressure release valves are used in any application where a higher than normal pressure drop must be maintained to prevent an over pressurization situation.

The F11958 Series is a 1/2 inch iron body, pressure reducing valve, designed for 6-1/2 to 10 inches of water column back pressure and rated at 175 psi at 120 deg.F maximum operating temperature. A large diameter stem with a dog-leg bend provides an easy flow characteristic. The stem carries a gate that is closed by a packing nut, allowing quick and easy stem lubrication.

The F11958 pressure reducing valve is a non-rising 2 to 15 Psi designed orifice replacement unit to replace worn and leaky orifice units in the water systems of bath and shower equipment. The F11958 valve is used on all CADDY MASTER brand pressure reducing valves. A color ring is furnished to indicate the proper flow rating for the tub/shower combination to which it will be installed. The F11958 pressure reducing valve can be installed either vertically or horizontally.
