Serial Communication Module

Serial Communication Module (SCM) provides service diagnostics and restoration for all points/communicating equipment while monitoring performance and discrete inputs from all communicating equipment through the communications media. It provides MDCP/Ethernet to BACnet MDMP translation, a loop-detect logic, 48V DC power supply for control panel and other discrete controls. It supports Com 2 and RS-422A communication. SCM is a replacement of Communication Interface Module (CIM).

The RHEEM 47-104778-01 -Ruud Serial Communication Module is a direct replacement for the original module. The motor and serial communication functions are controlled by this module. This module can be used with various other replacement modules for the system control board or compressor terminals.

The Module allows you to communicate with your equipment via a serial connection. The module converts the Moisture Content probe signal into either a 1mV signal for use by a Digital MultiMeter or to the industry standard of 10mv where needed.
