Rheem 47-21900-13 150F M/R Limit Switch. Rheem heat pumps require a control circuit to be hot when the compressor is running and hot when the reversing valve is energized. The limit switch monitors the temperature of these items in 2 separate places along the control circuit. As long as these temperatures (in both applications) occur, the limit switch energizes and keeps the compressor running. If for some reason this circuit fails, the limit switch will de-energize and cause the compressor to shut off. This part replaces Rheem part number 47-21900N1,

The 150F Max/Min Limit Switch operates Rheem heat pump and air conditioner equipment. The switch communicates with the outdoor unit's electronics to monitor the indoor and outdoor temperature. Switch contacts open when the outdoor temperature drops below approximately 13°F or rises above about 150°F.
