The Pilot Assembly is used on Natural Gas Ruud tankless water heaters, AP Series.

This Ruud pilot assembly is compatible with various Ruud boilers. It is designed to burn natural gas, but it can also be configured to run on propane. It comes with a thermocouple and an orifice tube for easy installation into your heater.

A pilot assembly consists of a thermocouple, a flame sensor, and a flame rod. The thermocouple is the most common method for sensing fire in the heater's combustion chamber. The pilot assembly may be located outside the heater assembly. If so, it must be shielded so that it is not exposed to wind or rain and so that it does not come in contact with combustible materials.
