Replacing furnace bypass assembly is a safe and easy project that anyone with basic plumbing skills can do on their own.

The Rheem-Ruud RTG20235X bypass assembly is used on Rheem and Ruud gas/propane water heaters, and replaces the flue pipe nuts that are used to connect the gas/propane line to the water heater.

This bypass is used for two stage charging on Ruud and Rheem heat pumps with a Ruud compressor. This system has a low ambient switch that must be replaced during the installation of this bypass. In addition, do NOT use a bypass if you have a combination outdoor reset button. All other codes are acceptable, i.e. outdoor reset with manual reset option.

This product is used at the burner and zone valve outlet to provide increased flow to a specific burner or zone. This assembly is not designed for the heating of water.
