Rheem 's convertible gas valve is the perfect solution for multifamily properties, where hot water can be used for cleaning and heating. Convert a single-zone unit to utilize natural gas or propane. When using natural gas , the valve will fully shutoff when pilot is lit,and fully open when pilot is off. If no match is detected after 15 seconds, gas valve will automatically shut off both failure/pilot reset and lockout functions are enabled to prevent unintentional use.

This convertible gas valve allows the installer flexibility in gas valve selection, especially when converting from a gas-fired water heater to an electric water heater. The valve has 2-stage control with automatic reversion to first stage, and it comes with a 1/2 in. NPT outlet to fit a direct vent adapter or an air admittance valve.

This convertible gas valve is designed to provide heating and cooling comfort. It offers the possibility to modify the application from low pressure to high pressure, or vice versa, making it compatible with all appliances. It can easily be combined with a Ruud system.
