The Robertshaw FASD combination gas valve is designed to continually monitor the line pressure by the standing pilot light. When the pilot is lit and a call for gas occurs, the solenoid gas valve will open and release gas to the pilot burner, outputting at minimum pilot volume. When both burners are off, the gas supply will turn off automatically when the pressure falls below 2 psi preventing any possibility of gas loss or hydrocarbon emissions.
