The 55 Degree Fahrenheit control is used to regulate the temperature at the evaporator coil. This control is common in applications where bimetal strip set point temperature control is not utilized. The 31 Close, 55 Open thermostat is used for defrost. This thermostat directs the indoor blower on when the control voltage applied to terminal 31 exceeds 55 volts dc. When the indoor air reaches 6 degrees F above the thermostat set point of 55 F, the voltage at terminal 31 will fall to 5 volts dc or less, which turns off the indoor blower motor relay. The control, temperature and defrost switches are to be mounted on the front of the control box. The control switch shall be a normally closed SPST type that is rated 15A or greater and operable to momentarily close contacts when the push button is pressed. The temperature switch shall be a normally open SPST type that is rated 15A or greater and operable to close only when the button is pressed. The defrost switch shall be a normally open SPST type rated 15A or greater.
