The 68088 MODBUS DATA CONTROLBUS MODULE is a programmable data and control communication module that offers the ability to connect serial devices for remote monitoring and control. The module uses MODBUS RTU (Master/Slave) protocol and features a range of up to 1,600 ft. (488 m). This module can be used with compatible Modicon industrial controllers or other MODBUS solutions, allowing you to create an integrated system that best suits your needs. Requires external power supply.

The MODBUS Data ControlBus module is a simple device, it takes in 16 bit addresses and sends back 24 bit addresses which can be assigned to any sensors you like. You can then poll the address of the item at that location if you like. This allows you to set items anywhere on your data bus and read them. There is a range switch/potentiometer to allow you to set the address where things are placed between 1 - 255.
