The Schlage Lock Corporation 40-340 716 Privacy Button kit has everything that is needed to replace the exterior trim plates for Schlage deadbolts. The privacy button kit fits Schlage deadbolts that accept a privacy bit that would be ordered as part of a Schlage lock installation. This kit is for door knobs with the ring knocker type design offered by Schlage.

The Schlage privacy button (40-340 716) allows you to rotate the latch to prevent unauthorized access to the inside of the lock. This allows you to keep in place your current handle and door with its current strike plate, and just swap out this privacy button.
